The PolyU Research Data Repository (Beta)

This guide introduces key features of the PolyU Research Data Repository.

Deaccession your Data

For data that you have never published, you can fully delete dataset.

However, if you have already published your dataset, only deaccession is allowed. After deaccession, your dataset will no longer be publicly available, but the metadata of the dataset will still be available to you after you have logged in.

You cannot undo both actions.

To delete or deaccession dataset, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in and go to your the page of your dataset. To locate your dataset page, follow the steps here

  2. (a) If your dataset is still unpublished, select Delete Dataset > Continue and the dataset record will be fully removed from the repository.

    (b) If you have already published your dataset, after selecting Deaccession Dataset, you will be required to input the information about the deaccession decision and click Deaccession to confirm. If there are multiple versions of your datasets, you will also be asked to choose which dataset to deaccession.

After deaccession, you will still find the deaccessioned dataset in the folder as below when you have logged in, however, it will no longer appear in the result list shown to the public.
