During the works period, the Library will strive to maintain its regular services. It is inevitable that some facilities and services will be suspended or affected during different stages of the works period. The PolyU community will be kept informed of the progress through various means.
To meet the needs for study space, alternative quiet study space will be made available during the works period. Various measures will be implemented to minimize disruption and inconveniences to Library users:
- Works will be conducted in phases;
- Building works of the additional 6/F will be executed by wings. Most works of the Project (except works of the additional 6/F) will be carried out in the summer periods.
- Major noisy construction works will be restricted to 8:30 am to 11:30 am Mon to Sat during Term Time.
- All noisy work will be suspended during Revision and Examination Period.
- Complimentary ear plugs are provided on request at the Library's service counters.
- Full height hoarding with top and bottom properly sealed will be erected to fence off the construction area to minimize noise and dust.
