Get your ORCID iD

Step 1: Check if you already have an ORCID iD

You may already have an ORCID iD from your previous institution. If you are not sure whether you already have an ORCID iD, please follow the steps here.

If you already have an ORCID iD, please update your employment details to "Hong Kong Polytechnic University" and add your PolyU email.

If you forgot your password to login, please retrieve your password using the steps here.

If you found out that you have more than one ORCID iD, please remove the duplicate account(s) using the steps here.

If you do not have an ORCID yet, please register for an ORCID iD as laid out in Step 2 below.

Step 2: Register an ORCID iD

Register for an ORCID iD at https://orcid.org/register with 3 simple steps:

1) Provide your First Name, Last Name, and Email Addresses.
2) Set your Password and Notification Preference. Your password must be 8 or more characters with at least 1 letter or symbol and 1 number.
3) Select desired Visibility Setting and consent to "Terms of Use". You will see your ORCID record after clicking on the Register button.
