Duolingo believes that anyone can learn a language with Duolingo. Their free, bite-size lessons feel more like a game than a textbook, and that's by design: Learning is easier when you're having fun.
They offer courses in 45 different languages, and every language course is free.
Busuu
Busuu is a self-led language learning platform that focuses on building solid foundations through simplified courses and short, focused lessons. Each course caters to beginners and beyond, aligning with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

ELC Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
It is a platform prepared by PolyU's English Learning Centre (ELC). It hosts a series of MOOCs courses related to English communication skills, which aims at helping students pursue academic and professional excellence.

BBC Learning English
As part of the BBC World Service, BBC Learning English has been teaching English to global audiences since 1943, offering free audio, video and text materials to learners around the world.

The Online Self-Access Project (ICOSA)
It was an inter-institutional project for the language centres of five tertiary institutions in Hong Kong to create and share a range of English language self-access learning materials online via an online repository. The websites contain learning strategies for listening, reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
PolyU Library Open Educational Resources (OER): English Language
PolyU OER Portal is a new on-going service from the Pao Yue-kong Library to facilitate the PolyU community to discover and share open-licensed teaching and learning resources that reside in the public domain so that students' learning experience could be further enhanced.
