What is EndNote?

EndNote is a widely used reference management tool to help you collect, organize, and share your references. The user interface is highly customizable. EndNote also allows you to insert in-text citations and format bibliographies in your research paper effortlessly, thus improving your efficiency in writing academic papers or reports.

Install EndNote Desktop

About Installation...

  1. It is important for you to close all the Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) before running the endnote-x9-polyu-installer.exe file.
  2. Double click on the endnote-x9-polyu-installer.exe file to install EndNote X9. If you see a pop-up message “Windows protected your PC”, click More info and click Run anyway to proceed.
  3. Select I accept the license agreement under the License Agreement, and select Typical for the Installation Type. Click Next > or Accept > to complete the rest of the steps.

Getting Started

Follow the steps below to create a reference library in EndNote:

  1. Click on File.
  2. Select New...
  3. Name your reference library.
  4. Click on Save.

You can save your library in any folder or destination in your computer, your USB device, or your cloud space. We recommend you to backup your library in more than one location for prudent.
